Job Description

About the Role We're hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the full AP cycle for a growing construction services company. This role requires accuracy, reliable follow-through on deadlines, and steady communication with vendors. You'll work closely with project managers and field staff to make sure job-cost coding is right the first time. What You'll Do Process high-volume vendor invoices and subcontractor pay applications, coding to the correct job, phase, and cost code Match invoices to purchase orders and verify against lien waivers and subcontractor compliance documents Prepare semi-monthly check runs Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies directly with vendors Maintain W-9s and support 1099 preparation at year-end Assist with month-end AP close, including accrual entries for unbilled work What You Bring 2-4 years of accounts payable experience; construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of job costing and how AP coding errors affect project margins Proficiency in Viewpoint Spectrum is a plus Strong Excel skills High attention to detail Clear, professional communication with subcontractors and project managers Why This Role Direct exposure to how AP connects to job profitability, not just data entry Small finance team with high visibility for your work Room to grow into a broader accounting or AP lead role as the company scales
