Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a full-time, in-office opportunity in the Sandy/Midvale, UT area. This role is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional with strong QuickBooks experience, excellent reconciliation skills, and the ability to work across multiple systems in a fast-paced corporate environment. The Bookkeeper will support internal corporate accounting functions, maintain accurate general ledger records, reconcile high-volume accounts, and help ensure financial data aligns across accounting and workforce management platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger activity in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop for corporate entities and external client accounts.
- Post daily journal entries, prepare adjusting entries, and support accurate month-end accounting processes.
- Reconcile monthly bank accounts, corporate credit cards, operational accounts, and clearing accounts to ensure records match bank statements.
- Enter approved vendor invoices, support corporate accounts payable processes, and process approved internal payments.
- Cross-reference data between workforce management platforms and QuickBooks to verify billing, administrative fees, payroll funding activity, and expenses.
- Prepare benefit reconciliations comparing client-billed invoices with payroll deductions for healthcare, dental, vision, and other employee benefits. Compensation and Benefits
Compensation:
$60,000 to $62,500 per year.- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, standard business hours.- Work arrangement: 100% in-office.
Location:
Sandy/Midvale, UT area. Required Qualifications and Skills- Manage corporate bookkeeping activity, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and adjusting entries.
- Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, clearing accounts, and benefit-related activity.
- Support corporate accounts payable, including invoice entry and approved payment processing.
- Align accounting data between QuickBooks and workforce management or payroll-related platforms.
- 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Advanced hands-on proficiency with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong understanding of general bookkeeping procedures, data entry best practices, corporate clearing accounts, and client fee billing.
- Ability to pull data, extract reports, review billing registers, and cross-reference payroll funding or workforce-related ledger entries.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
- Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to manage high-volume accounting activity.
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in an in-office team environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and employee-related information. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a PEO/ASO, staffing agency, payroll services, or multi-entity corporate environment.
- Familiarity with workforce management systems, payroll platforms, billing registers, benefit deductions, or employee benefit reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting accounting functions where payroll, client billing, administrative fees, and benefit-related transactions intersect.
