Join Our Team as an Accounts Payable Specialist!
Location:
Charlottesville, VA Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with bookkeeping or accounting experience? Do you enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and have a strong willingness to learn? We're looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join Lee Construction Group and support our family of companies!
Compensation:
Salary Range:
$55,000-$60,000 per year , depending on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and enter approved invoices into the accounting system. Review invoices, bills, vouchers, and other documents for accuracy before entering them into records. Verify and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records. Perform accurate calculations, balancing, and reconciliations. Support and cross-train in Customer Billing, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger Accounting as needed. Prepare weekly payroll and complete related activities when needed. Provide Front Desk coverage and support as needed. Maintain accurate records and follow established accounting procedures. Work collaboratively with the accounting team and support other accounting functions as needed.
What You Bring:
3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; college-level bookkeeping or accounting coursework is also a plus. Strong understanding of bookkeeping procedures, including transactions, invoicing, balancing, and reconciliation. Proven organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Clear and consistent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to follow procedures, ask questions when needed, and prioritize responsibilities. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. A strong learning orientation and willingness to pursue additional training and educational opportunities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel. Ability and willingness to learn and become proficient with new technology and accounting systems. Knowledge of CMiC is a plus. Notary Public certification or willingness to become a Notary Public. Willingness to complete a drug test and background check.
