Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is seeking an Accounts Payable Financial Services Technician to join our Finance team. This position supports daily accounts payable, financial services, vendor management, and accounting operations by processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, resolving payment issues, and supporting fiscal year-end activities. Minimum Qualifications:
One (1) year of Accounts Payable experience using an automated computer-based accounting or financial management system. What You'll Do Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices, vouchers, requisitions, and supporting documentation for accuracy. Enter, verify, and proof accounting information and prepare payments for processing. Print and distribute checks and reconcile vendor accounts. Research and resolve unpaid invoices, vendor statements, payment discrepancies, and account issues. Communicate with vendors and agency staff to resolve accounts payable questions and payment concerns. Maintain the Accounts Payable database, including setting up new vendors and updating W-9 information. Maintain accurate financial records, files, and related documentation. Assist with fiscal year-end closing activities, including preparing Accounts Payable records for storage and establishing records for the new fiscal year. Process miscellaneous financial and fiscal transactions as needed. Assist with credentialing and procurement administrative functions, including tracking applications, contracts, and workers' compensation files. Organize and maintain electronic and paper records and documentation. Communicate with staff, vendors, and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to obtain information and resolve issues.
