Job Description
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing construction organization. This position will be responsible for processing a high volume of vendor and subcontractor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time. Responsibilities
+ Process high-volume accounts payable invoices from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
+ Code invoices accurately to the appropriate general ledger accounts, projects, jobs, and cost codes
+ Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation
+ Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and supporting documentation
+ Assist with three-way matching and resolve invoice or purchase order discrepancies
+ Enter and maintain vendor information within the accounting system
+ Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other vendor payments
+ Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding or missing invoices
+ Communicate with vendors and internal project teams regarding invoice and payment questions
+ Track subcontractor invoices and supporting documentation
+ Assist with lien releases, certificates of insurance, W-9s, and other construction-related vendor documentation
+ Support job costing and ensure expenses are accurately assigned to projects
+ Assist with credit card and employee expense reconciliations
+ Maintain organized AP records and documentation for audits and month-end close
+ Assist the accounting team with additional projects and general accounting responsibilities as needed Requirements 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred Previous experience within construction, contracting, manufacturing, property management, or a project-based environment strongly preferred Understanding of job costing, cost codes, purchase orders, and project accounting is a plus Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high volume of transactions Ability to research discrepancies and communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments Strong organizational and time-management skills Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP softwar Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
