Responsibilities Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately using financial software such as QuickBooks or Sage. Perform general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting. Reconcile accounts and perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and record-keeping with high accuracy. Support payroll management using Paychex, ensuring correct processing of employee compensation and benefits. Assist with compliance audits and nonprofit fund accounting standards. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with familiarity in non-profit fund accounting environments. Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management. Solid understanding of GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries. Experience with financial concepts including budgeting, credit analysis, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and math calculations accurately. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high standards of integrity. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry, account reconciliation, and ledger management.
