Job Description
Position Summary Our client's team is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Accounting Assistant to support daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer service functions for their network of 18 stores. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in providing excellent service to both internal and external customers. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable Process invoices received from 18 store locations through electronic document management systems. Enter and maintain invoice data in Agvance software. Process invoices submitted by drivers through tablet-based systems that sync daily. Assist with weekly check runs and vendor payment processing. Ensure invoices are entered accurately and in a timely manner. Accounts Receivable Receive and process customer payments by cash and check. Apply payments and maintain accurate customer account records in Agvance. Process incoming mail and deposit-related transactions. Assist with account reconciliation and follow up on customer account inquiries. Customer Service & Office Support Assist customers who visit the office with billing and payment-related questions. Help resolve account concerns and direct customers to the appropriate department when needed. Answer and route incoming phone calls as part of a shared team rotation. Provide friendly, professional service to approximately 20-25 walk-in customers each day. Qualifications Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting support, or bookkeeping preferred. Strong data entry and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. Customer service experience and strong communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Agvance or similar accounting software is a plus. Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to assist across multiple functions.
