Job Description

The Move-Out Associate is responsible for managing the move-out process for departing tenants, ensuring accurate account closures, refund processing, and compliance with financial procedures. This role involves coordinating with various teams, handling security deposit transfers, and maintaining organized records within Yardi. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Process Notices to Vacate and prepare tenant files for closure.
  • Run reports for key returns and move-out inspections.
  • Close tenant accounts in Yardi upon key return and completion of move-out inspection.
  • Conduct cross-referencing reviews of closed accounts to ensure accuracy before issuing refunds.
  • Process security deposit refunds through banks, including calculating escrow interest and mailing refund checks via certified mail.
  • Handle the transfer of security deposits and overpaid rent for approved tenant transfers.
  • Manage lease-break scenarios by billing rent until a new tenant takes possession, then initiating the closing process.
  • Resolve issues related to undelivered, lost, or reissued refund checks by confirming mailing addresses and coordinating reissuance.
  • Allocate new tenant security deposits from the master account into escrow.
  • Transfer security deposit funds from the operating account to escrow as required.
  • Reconcile all escrow accounts monthly.
  • Address work orders generated by the customer service team.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in property management, leasing, or financial administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review financial transactions for accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with tenants and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving skills for handling account discrepancies and tenant concerns.
Pay:
From $26.00 per hour
