Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Budget Analyst to join our team in Tampa, Florida. This contract position requires someone with strong expertise in budget development and financial analysis, particularly in the context of government funding and grants. The ideal candidate will play a key role in creating accurate and compliant proposal budgets while contributing to broader financial strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive budgets for proposals based on federal grant requirements and organizational accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal uniform guidance and allowable cost principles in all budget processes.
- Collaborate with departments and operating entities to consolidate individual budgets into a unified organizational budget.
- Utilize financial systems such as Questica and Sage Intacct to manage and analyze budgetary data.
- Assist in transitioning the organization from a static budget model to a rolling forecast and budget approach.
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare internal budgets in alignment with government funding requirements and deadlines.
- Provide expertise in financial modeling and forecasting to enhance budget accuracy and reliability.
- Support grant and proposal development by creating detailed and compliant budget frameworks.
- Work closely with accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of budgetary and financial reporting processes. Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in budget analysis and financial planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal uniform guidance and government funding principles.
- Proficiency in budgeting software like Questica and Sage Intacct, as well as advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing rolling forecasts and transitioning budget models.
- Solid understanding of financial modeling and grant proposal processes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and entities.
