Job Description

The Department of Budget and Fiscal Services (BFS), Budgetary Administration, is looking for an analytical and detail-oriented professional to help shape how the City's resources are allocated to support its departments and programs. This role involves reviewing and analyzing capital improvement and operating budget requests, participating in the development of long-range fiscal programs, and ensuring budget requests align with the City's program goals and objectives. You'll play a crucial role in using the budget effectively to improve our community.
What You Will Do :
Attend budget hearings and present the justification for budget recommendations. Give guidance in the development of work programs and expenditure schedules. Analyze and make recommendations on supplementary appropriations and transfer of funds between and within activities. Review and analyze departmental organizational structure, allocation of functions, and personnel utilization as they relate to the budgetary program. Conduct studies on departmental functions, work procedures, and practices to identify opportunities for improved efficiency. Confer with departmental officials to explain and advise on budgetary and management directives and follow up for compliance.
