Washington, DC Job Details Contract 5 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description CareNationDC is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the agency's financial operations, budgeting, revenue cycle, payroll oversight, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. The CFO will work closely with executive leadership, billing, HR, clinical operations, and external accountants to ensure the organization remains financially stable, compliant, and prepared for growth. This role supports CareNationDC's behavioral health, MHRS, and SUD programs by monitoring revenue, expenses, claims, payroll costs, program profitability, and financial risks. Key Responsibilities Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Monitor agency revenue, expenses, cash flow, and financial performance. Oversee Medicaid billing, claims, denials, payments, and accounts receivable. Ensure documentation, billing, payroll, and financial records support compliance requirements. Prepare monthly financial statements, dashboards, and leadership reports. Review payroll, staffing costs, vendor payments, and contracts. Maintain strong internal controls to prevent fraud, waste, and financial errors. Support grant, contract, tax, audit, and DBH/Medicaid financial compliance. Work with leadership to plan growth, staffing, new programs, and sustainability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required. CPA, MBA, master's degree, or senior healthcare finance experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience preferred. Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, Medicaid billing, nonprofit finance, or human services strongly preferred. Knowledge of budgeting, revenue cycle management, payroll, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls. Experience with EHR billing systems, QuickBooks, Paychex, ADP, or similar platforms preferred.
