Job Description

American Guard Services is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Risk & Investigations Assistant to support the Company's Risk and Investigations functions. This position assists with workplace investigations, workers' compensation matters, general liability claims, employee complaints, theft and misconduct investigations, incident reviews, and other risk-related matters. The ideal candidate is highly organized, discreet, analytical, and comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information. This is an onsite position based at our corporate office in Gardena, California. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with internal investigations involving workplace misconduct, employee complaints, theft, harassment, discrimination, safety incidents, workers' compensation, and general liability matters.
  • Conduct preliminary fact-finding and assist with interviewing employees, witnesses, supervisors, and other relevant parties.
  • Gather, review, organize, and preserve statements, incident reports, photographs, video footage, records, and other supporting documentation.
  • Review surveillance footage and other available evidence relevant to investigations and claims.
  • Prepare clear, organized investigation notes, summaries, timelines, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining confidential investigation and risk-management case files.
  • Support the intake, tracking, documentation, and follow-up of workers' compensation claims.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources, Operations, Legal, Safety, and other departments during investigations and claim reviews.
  • Assist with identifying contributing factors and root causes associated with workplace incidents.
  • Track investigation activity, claims, incidents, and risk trends.
  • Assist with surveillance or field investigation activities when required.
  • Draft professional correspondence, requests for information, follow-up communications, and investigation-related documentation.
  • Schedule interviews, meetings, and investigative follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate case logs and ensure required documentation is completed and retained appropriately.
  • Handle sensitive employee, client, and Company information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Assist the Risk Department with additional administrative and investigative projects as assigned. Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Human Resources, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant investigative, claims, risk, HR, military, law-enforcement, or security experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements. Preferred Experience

  • Ability to evaluate information objectively and identify inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple active cases and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to remain neutral and professional when handling sensitive or contentious matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to learn internal case-management, surveillance, reporting, and claims systems.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with Risk, HR, Legal, and Operations. Additional Requirements
  • Reliable transportation to the Gardena corporate office.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work hours based on investigative needs.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to travel locally on an occasional basis may be required.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$26.00 per hour
