Assistant Claims Adjuster (Workers' Compensation) Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Assistant Claims Adjuster to support the management of Workers' Compensation claims for a select group of commercial clients. This position does not adjust or determine claim liability. Instead, the Assistant Claims Adjuster serves as a liaison between the insured, insurance carriers, and claims adjusters to ensure clear communication, timely follow-up, and exceptional client service throughout the life of each claim. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the Workers' Compensation claims process, strong communication skills, and the ability to advocate for clients while maintaining productive relationships with carrier representatives. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for insured clients regarding Workers' Compensation claim activity. Monitor claims from inception through closure and maintain regular communication with adjusters and carrier representatives. Provide timely claim status updates to clients and communicate adjuster requests, documentation needs, and next steps. Advocate for the insured by facilitating communication and helping move claims toward favorable resolutions. Review claim activity to ensure appropriate follow-up and identify potential concerns or delays. Coordinate with insurance carriers, adjusters, employers, medical providers, and other stakeholders as needed. Maintain accurate claim records, correspondence, and documentation. Respond promptly to client questions and provide exceptional customer service. Assist Account Managers and Producers with claim-related issues as needed. Develop trusted relationships with clients by serving as a knowledgeable resource throughout the claims process. Qualifications 2+ years of Workers' Compensation claims experience, preferably within an insurance agency, carrier, TPA, or risk management environment. Strong understanding of the Workers' Compensation claim lifecycle. Experience working directly with claims adjusters and carrier representatives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple claims and priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems is preferred. Active Property & Casualty License is a plus but not required. Preferred Experience Background supporting commercial insurance clients. Experience in claims advocacy, claims coordination, or client-facing claims support. Knowledge of return-to-work programs, reserve discussions, and claim resolution strategies. What You'll Bring A client-first mindset with exceptional relationship-building skills.
