We offer a friendly, collaborative business environment. As a cargo claims specialist, you will work with supervising attorneys and learn to manage a caseload of cargo loss and damage claims arising from international and domestic transportation by ship, rail, truck, and air. Your job will be to obtain compensation for our clients, and you will interact with clients and the responsible transportation companies to negotiate and settle cargo claims. This is a great job for you if you are interested in managing your own caseload and working in a team setting. We are looking for a self-starter with strong writing and oral communication skills, and a desire to take on responsibility, learn new skills, and develop specialized expertise in transportation and cargo law. College degree preferred. Responsibilities Manage own caseload of cargo recovery files, under supervision of experienced attorneys, which includes reviewing claim documents, drafting demand letters and negotiating with responsible parties Assist attorneys with developing factual support for cases Communicate with clients, experts and attorneys about case status and updates Requirements Strong writing and oral communication skills, and a desire to take on responsibility and learn new skills Organized with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Ability to act independently, be proactive and work with the appropriate amount of light supervision Support and collaborate with colleagues
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
