The Opportunity At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As a Claims Coordinator , you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the claims process for our property and casualty clients. This role involves communication with clients, insurance carriers and internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient claims experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive notices of incidents and potential losses, evaluate next steps, and determine coverage applicability Review, process, and maintain claims documentation while ensuring information is complete, accurate, and properly recorded Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process, providing guidance and support Coordinate with insurance carriers to facilitate claims handling, follow-ups, negotiations, and issue resolution Maintain organized records and prepare reports and documentation for clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders Research claims issues, identify discrepancies, and escalate complex situations when appropriate Serve as a technical resource for sales and service teams by answering coverage and claims process questions Assist with loss reporting, claims analysis, and presentations for middle market clients
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in a claims handling, insurance, or Property & Casualty-related role Strong customer service, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance coverages Understanding of workers' compensation claims management principles Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple priorities Licensure Active Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred OR Ability to obtain and maintain a Property & Casualty Insurance License after hire Preferred Qualifications Experience working with commercial lines claims Experience interacting directly with insurance carriers and clients Knowledge of agency management systems and claims documentation processes Experience identifying coverage issues and resolving claim disputes Ability to analyze claims data and provide recommendations Experience supporting middle market clients Benefits Eligible colleagues enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability coverage 401(k) Generous paid time off Professional development and career growth opportunities
