Job Description
Job Summary A direct hire opportunity is available for a Liability Claims Adjuster in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is ideal for a claims professional with property and casualty experience who can investigate liability claims, evaluate exposure, review repair estimates, negotiate settlements, and manage files through resolution. The Liability Claims Adjuster will work in a fast-paced insurance environment where accuracy, sound judgment, professionalism, and customer service are highly valued. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex claims, collaborate with leadership and peers, and contribute to fair, timely, and well-documented claim outcomes. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, communicating with claimants and attorneys, and applying state insurance regulations, recovery rights, statute of limitations requirements, and Medicare settlement guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate assigned liability claims by collecting facts, documentation, estimates, invoices, photos, and other relevant claim information.
- Review commercial and personal vehicle repair estimates for accuracy and alignment with accident details, including coordination of third-party reviews when needed.
- Evaluate liability, establish and adjust reserves, and make sound claim decisions in accordance with established best practices.
- Negotiate and settle claims with claimants and attorneys while protecting company interests and maintaining professional communication.
- Manage claim files in a timely manner, including reviewing aged claims, documenting activity, and closing files as appropriate.
- Apply rights to recovery, statute of limitations laws, state insurance regulations, and Medicare requirements for bodily injury claim settlements. Compensation and Benefits

Salt Lake City, UT. Required Qualifications and Skills- Manage investigation, evaluation, reserving, negotiation, and resolution of assigned liability claims.
- Review repair estimates and accident documentation for commercial and personal vehicle claims.
- Maintain accurate claim files, track claim activity, and ensure timely claim handling.
- Communicate professionally with claimants, attorneys, internal teams, outside insurance contacts, and governmental agencies.
- 2 or more years of experience managing property and casualty claims with strong performance required.
- 3 to 5 years of related claims adjusting experience preferred for this level of role.
- Working knowledge of claims handling practices, insurance regulations, recovery rights, statute of limitations requirements, and Federal Medicare regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt between assignments with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to manage conflict, urgent situations, and multiple customers at once.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of work processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively with supervisors, peers, and cross-functional partners.
- Four-year degree in a specified field or business-related field and commensurate work experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications
- Transportation or maintenance industry experience.
- Experience using RM Client, BMI, AS400, TMT, or TMS systems.
- Experience reviewing commercial vehicle claims or accident-related repair estimates.
- Strong understanding of bodily injury claim settlement processes and Medicare compliance requirements.
