Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Detention Center Compliance Manager to lead our facility's adherence to juvenille correctional policies, legal standards, and safety protocols. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations related to inmate supervision, staff management, and compliance with juvenile justice and correctional system regulations. Your leadership will ensure a secure, respectful environment for both staff and incarcerated individuals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Lead and supervise detention center staff to ensure effective inmate supervision, security procedures, and adherence to correctional policies. Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs aligned with juvenile justice system requirements and correctional regulations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to uphold safety standards, including manual handling protocols, fire safety measures, and security procedures. Manage case files, incident reports, and records management systems with precision to support legal compliance and operational transparency. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive behavior change among incarcerated individuals and facilitate conflict management strategies when necessary. Oversee staff training initiatives in areas such as first aid (including CPR), first aid protocols, law enforcement procedures, firearms handling in law enforcement contexts, cultural competency, and social work practices. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency responders during incidents involving inmate disturbances or emergencies. Ensure staff are trained in inmate supervision best practices including weight handling in the workplace, manual handling safety, and security protocols. Promote a respectful environment by working with youth and incarcerated individuals from diverse backgrounds while maintaining professional boundaries. Experience Proven supervising experience in a correctional or detention setting with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Extensive knowledge of juvenile justice system operations and correctional policy compliance standards. Strong background in social work or case management within correctional or juvenile facilities is highly desirable. Experience working with incarcerated individuals or youth populations in secure environments. Familiarity with report writing, record management systems, and preparing detailed documentation for legal or administrative purposes. Hands-on experience with security measures including CCTV surveillance, manual handling techniques, firearms handling (where applicable), and emergency response procedures such as CPR and first aid protocols. Background in law enforcement or military service is advantageous for understanding security operations and conflict management strategies. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while fostering a positive team environment focused on safety and compliance.
