Job Summary, Experience is a must. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Compliance Manager with specialized expertise in the cannabis industry to lead our regulatory compliance initiatives. This pivotal role involves ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards governing cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, and sales. The Compliance Manager will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive compliance programs, conduct rigorous audits, and collaborate across departments to maintain the highest standards of regulatory integrity. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust compliance frameworks aligned with federal, state, and local cannabis regulations as well as relevant health and safety policies. Monitor changes in legislation related to cannabis regulation, including FDA regulations, EMA regulations, and other applicable health regulation policies, ensuring timely updates to internal procedures. Lead regulatory submissions for licensing, product approvals, and other necessary documentation to authorities such as FDA and local agencies. Conduct comprehensive regulatory compliance analysis across all operational areas including cultivation, manufacturing (Chemistry, manufacturing & controls), distribution, and retail. Manage risk assessments related to drug regulation, biomedical regulatory compliance, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance to mitigate potential violations. Oversee quality assurance processes ensuring adherence to ICH guidelines (International Conference on Harmonisation) and ISO standards relevant to the cannabis industry. Utilize compliance management software for tracking audits, corrective actions, training records, and regulatory documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research & development, legal affairs, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless regulatory compliance projects. Prepare detailed reports on compliance status and facilitate internal training sessions on regulatory requirements and best practices. Skills Extensive knowledge of FDA regulations, EMA regulations, ICH guidelines, and drug regulation policies pertinent to cannabis products. Proven experience managing regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical or biomedical sectors with a focus on cannabis or related industries. Strong understanding of clinical trials processes as they relate to product development in the cannabis space. Exceptional project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously. Proficiency in using compliance management software for audit tracking, documentation control, and reporting purposes. Excellent data analysis skills for interpreting complex regulatory data sets and identifying potential risks or non-compliance issues. Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, regulatory submissions, and conducting cross-functional training sessions. Knowledge of health regulation policies at local, state, federal levels along with international standards such as ISO. Ability to lead risk management strategies proactively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in compliance practices.
