Description and Requirements High-impact technology senior lawyer to work with lead AI counsel and global legal and regulatory team to understand, influence, and interpret global regulations and laws with respect Artificial Intelligence as they apply to Lenovo's business and products, assist worldwide multifunction team in implementing compliance processes, and provide counsel to diverse client groups regarding legal and regulatory matters relating to artificial intelligence generally. Lenovo's AI Legal Team is responsible for advising business and technology teams on the development, deployment, and commercialization of AI-enabled products, services, tools, and internal systems worldwide. The team serves as Lenovo's primary legal authority on AI regulation and governance, providing practical, risk-balanced guidance on emerging global requirements, including AI, privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, intellectual property, product, and sector-specific regulatory frameworks. In addition to supporting product and commercial initiatives, the AI Legal Team works within and co-manages Lenovo's Responsible AI Governance Program, develops corporate AI policies and standards, and partners closely with engineering, product, security, privacy, ethics, compliance, government affairs, and business leadership teams to enable responsible and innovative AI deployment across the company. As part of Lenovo's Responsible AI Governance Program, the successful candidate will play a key role in the Responsible AI review process and support the Responsible AI Council (RAIC), Lenovo's cross-functional executive governance body responsible for overseeing implementation of Lenovo's Corporate AI Policy and reviewing AI projects that present significant legal, ethical, regulatory, or business risk. The review process involves assessing new AI initiatives through a structured intake and governance framework, coordinating with legal, privacy, security, ethics, and compliance stakeholders, evaluating regulatory and operational risks, recommending appropriate controls and mitigations, and preparing matters for executive review when necessary. This role requires close collaboration with senior business and technical leaders to ensure AI innovation is deployed responsibly, compliantly, and in alignment with Lenovo's values and global governance standards. Job Responsibilities (Essential functions and duties): Understand and interpret global legal and regulatory requirements as they apply to Artificial Intelligence and Lenovo's operations and products Work with internal and external government relations professionals and outside counsel to strategically engage with relevant regulators and agencies Assist global legal and compliance team in developing and implementing compliance measures Provide advice and support to diverse clients groups regarding AI legal matters Work seamlessly with global legal team as a subject matter expert on AI law Negotiate agreements with vendors, customers, and technology partners with respect to AI services, products, and technologiesBasic Job Requirements:
JD and admission to practice 8+ years of counseling, drafting and negotiation experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably focused on AI, software, SaaS, and related technologiesPreferred Job Requirements:
