Competitive PTO and work from home opportunities after an introductory period About the Role Ryan Transportation is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Carrier Compliance to lead and evolve the organization's carrier compliance, risk management, cargo claims, insurance, and regulatory governance functions. This leader will be responsible for establishing and executing compliance strategies that protect Ryan Transportation's business interests, support carrier network growth, mitigate operational risk, and ensure adherence to transportation regulations and contractual obligations. The Director will partner closely with Operations, Legal, Risk Management, Account Management, Technology, and Executive Leadership to drive continuous improvement, strengthen carrier qualification standards, and enhance compliance processes across the organization. What You'll Do Lead the overall carrier compliance strategy, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, customer obligations, and company risk management standards. Oversee carrier qualification, onboarding, monitoring, and compliance programs, including safety, authority, insurance, and contractual requirements. Direct cargo claims management and recovery efforts, partnering with carriers, insurance providers, customers, and internal stakeholders to minimize risk and financial exposure. Provide oversight of carrier and shipper contract compliance, ensuring operational alignment with contractual and customer-specific requirements. Drive compliance audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, data integrity, and operational efficiency across transportation systems and processes. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Account Management, Legal, Risk, and Technology teams to develop scalable compliance solutions and support business growth. Lead, develop, and mentor compliance team members while serving as the organization's subject matter expert on transportation compliance, insurance, and carrier risk management. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, Risk Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered. 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, carrier compliance, logistics operations, risk management, or a related field. 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and developing talent. Deep knowledge of FMCSA regulations, carrier qualification standards, cargo claims management, transportation contracts, and insurance requirements. Demonstrated success developing and implementing compliance programs, controls, and operational process improvements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
