Job Summary
Walgreens is seeking a Responsible AI Senior Manager to lead the operations and growth of our Responsible AI program. This highly visible role will collaborate across Legal, Compliance, Technology, Data, Security, and Privacy to help ensure artificial intelligence is developed, deployed, and governed in a trustworthy and compliant manner aligned with our company values.
As AI transforms healthcare, retail, and consumer experiences, this leader will play a critical role in helping Walgreens responsibly accelerate innovation while managing legal, ethical, regulatory, and operational risk.
Location:
Deerfield, Illinois — Hybrid schedule requiring four days in the office and one day remote each week.
Job Responsibilities
Provides managerial oversight and functional leadership for team members and contractors involved in the delivery of technology compliance activities. Coaches and mentors staff on the continual improvement of their technology compliance skills.
Provides advice and proposes solutions for complex and technical information compliance issues.
Develops, reviews and/or presents proposals, project plans, status reports, and other information in a variety of formats and styles appropriate to the audience.
Responsible for remediation and risk mitigation planning, execution and oversight. Maintains the scope of IT assets, controls, control owners, and risks that make up the applicable compliance program.
Influences individuals within and outside the department.
Identifies developmental needs of members assigned to project teams and develops suggestions to address those needs. Acts as mentors to team members on projects and provides on the job training. Schedules work, assigns responsibility, and delegates authority for assigned projects.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in IT, IT Audit, IT Compliance, Philosophy, Mathematics and/or Information Security OR a High School Diploma/GED at least 7 years of experience in IT, IT Audit, IT Compliance, Philosophy, Mathematics and/or Information Security
Experience applying IT and audit principles and ISACA or IIA Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
Audit and/or relevant IT compliance program experience.
Experience developing and managing IT security, IT risk, and IT compliance programs and teams.
Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
Experience presenting to and managing senior level meetings, including preparation of agendas, documenting meeting minutes, sending out documents to attendees
Experience working with PCI, HIPAA, state consumer privacy laws, or laws and policies governing the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in MIS or Computer Science
Master's degree
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Audit or Compliance experience in the Retail, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or distribution industry
Strong foundation in mathematics
Experience designing, implementing, or analyzing algorithms and data structures
Experience working with artificial intelligence and machine learning
