Argo's Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all Argo employees and operations are in compliance with those requirements, and to maintain Argo's records that document that compliance.
Job Description:
The regular work schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a half-hour lunch break (which results in one half hour of overtime pay each regularly scheduled working day). The primary duties and responsibilities of Argo Chemical's Compliance Coordinator involve ensuring that the company and all employees and applicable third parties conduct all work in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and laws, including: Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") inspections and replacement as needed; ensuring compliance with OSHA and other applicable requirements and related policies regarding PPE, including reviewing daily stubble reports and documenting compliance; operations and delivery equipment inspections (e.g., that hoses are in good condition and inspections dates are current) and replacement as needed; delivery scheduling and monitoring delivery route progress; daily compliance audits (i.e., walk the facility at least daily to verify all employees are wearing proper PPE as their job requires, and that the facility is being maintained in an audit-ready condition at all times); weekly facility inspection and managing corrective action follow-up to ensure completion; Daily Safety and Performance ("DSAP") Report management; conducting incident investigations and preparing incident reports; periodic visits to customer sites for driver safety audits and incident investigation review as required; review of all Argo storage tanks and rolling stock for proper signage; preparing and applying product labels to storage containers; regularly taking inventory of chemical products, operations equipment, and PPE; placing orders to purchase products, and receiving orders from customers to deliver products; rinse water inventory and management; managing weekly safety session documentation (including printing and scanning required records); compiling monthly safety committee meeting reports; updating hardcopy policy binders and Safety Data Sheets ("SDSs"); managing automated broadcast system reminders and reports (e.g., preparing monthly compliance reports, turning on the Heat Illness Prevention Policy reminder when the weather gets above 85ºF, and adding new policy reminders); monthly emergency equipment checks; ensuring that required employee records (e.g., drivers licenses, HAZWOPER certs, CDL medical certs, etc.) are up to date; assisting with special projects related to compliance, safety, and efficiency, as they develop; assisting with regulatory compliance audits and reviews; assisting with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed; and additional duties and responsibilities as may be required or assigned by supervisors and/or management.

Argo's Compliance Coordinator must be able to master essential skills needed to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, rules, regulations, and laws, including: exceptional attention to detail to ensure complete compliance and minimize any risk of incidents; maintaining a professional demeanor and being honest, ethical, reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling all obligations; effective and accurate written and verbal communication skills, with people both outside the company (customers and vendors) and inside the company (coworkers and managers); strong common sense, organization, time-management, and prioritization skills, with good judgment in setting priorities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while still meeting deadlines; critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities, to analyze and understand complex compliance issues and use logic and reasoning to identify and recommend appropriate solutions, including in conducting incident investigations, in refining policies and procedures, and in determining how processes should work and how changes in conditions will affect outcomes; handling high-stress situations calmly and effectively, without panic or avoidable mistakes; and proficiency in the technology and tools to achieve these goals, including fluency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets), and Zoom videoconferencing software. At least 2 years of experience is preferred in regulatory compliance or other proven experience in operational safety and compliance management, with strong references for the job functions and skills described above. This job operates in an industrial setting, with a blend of work in the processing facility's warehouses and production yard (which involves wearing applicable PPE including safety-toed boots while walking throughout the facility, with frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and/or squatting) and work in the attached offices while sitting at a desk and using a computer for extended periods of time (which requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, filing cabinets, etc.). Personal auto insurance is required as underlying to corporate auto insurance for occasional driving off-site for company business.
