Job Description

JOB SUMMARY ACLC
is seeking a detail-oriented Labor Compliance Assistant to support our public works labor compliance monitoring services. This role assists with certified payroll review, apprenticeship compliance tracking, contractor eligibility verification, and general administrative support for compliance monitoring engagements on California public works projects. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with data entry and document review, and able to work under deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with review and processing of certified payroll records for compliance with prevailing wage requirements Support apprenticeship compliance tracking and documentation Help maintain and update records in LCPtracker and internal compliance tracking systems (e.g., compliance logs) Assist with contractor eligibility verification, including DIR registration and debarment checks Organize and maintain compliance documentation files for active projects Communicate with contractors and subcontractors to request missing payroll documentation Prepare draft reports, correspondence, and compliance summaries for review Support scheduling and logistics for compliance training events or site visits Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred 1+ years of experience in administrative support, payroll, HR, or construction-related compliance preferred Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage, or public works requirements a plus (training provided) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required; experience with LCPtracker a plus Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employment records
PREFERRED SKILLS
Knowledge of California Labor Code and public works prevailing wage law Experience with DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) systems Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
