Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to oversee all regulatory compliance activities within our cannabis manufacturing laboratory. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to state and local cannabis regulations, maintaining accurate inventory and production records, managing audits and inspections, and supporting operational teams in maintaining a culture of compliance. The ideal candidate has experience in cannabis manufacturing, strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, and the ability to develop systems that ensure compliance without disrupting operational efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance Maintain compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and inspectors. Monitor regulatory updates and implement changes to internal policies and procedures. Conduct routine compliance audits and facility inspections. Inventory & Track-and-Trace Management Manage and maintain METRC and other required compliance software systems. Ensure accurate inventory tracking from raw materials through finished goods. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Perform regular inventory reconciliations and compliance reviews. Documentation & Recordkeeping Maintain accurate production, testing, transportation, and inventory records. Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure all compliance documentation is audit-ready and properly archived. Coordinate document control processes across departments. Quality Assurance Support Work closely with laboratory and production teams to ensure adherence to GMP and quality standards. Assist with product recalls, corrective action plans, and incident investigations when necessary. Monitor testing requirements and certificate-of-analysis documentation. Training & Continuous Improvement Train employees on compliance requirements, SOPs, and regulatory updates. Promote a culture of accountability and compliance throughout the organization. Identify operational risks and recommend process improvements. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of compliance experience in the cannabis industry. Strong knowledge of state cannabis regulations and METRC. Experience in cannabis manufacturing, extraction, packaging, or laboratory operations. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and compliance management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience with GMP, HACCP, ISO, or other quality management systems. Previous experience managing regulatory audits and inspections. Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, or related field.
