Full Job Description Summary/objective:
This role is responsible for managing key components of facility-wide food safety and compliance programs by ensuring accurate documentation, effective monitoring, and coordination across departments. The position supports regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of food safety processes.Essential functions:
(to include supervisory responsibilities - if applicable) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.- Monitors and verify food safety records and logs (iAuditor, chemical systems, and operational logs) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; communicate findings and corrective actions to management.
- Monitors chemical inputs on an hourly basis and communicate issues in real time with supervisors.
- Develops, implements, and maintains, sanitation and compliance tracking systems (e.g., forklifts, racks, and other equipment) in partnership with the Sanitation Supervisor.
- Manages documentation and recordkeeping systems, including organizing, scanning, uploading, and maintaining records on shared drives to ensure accessibility, accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Coordinates and support audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities, including preparation of required documentation and participation in audit processes.
- Identifies gaps in food safety and compliance processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, data integrity, and audit readiness.
- Develops and maintain compliance schedules for inspections, verifications, and assessments to meet GFS, regulatory, and internal program requirements.
- Prepares and communicate reports and summaries, including weekly food safety updates, incident tracking, and departmental requests.
- Supports and update food safety programs and documentation, including SOPs, written programs, and digital logging systems.
- Coordinates food safety training programs, including scheduling, material development, tracking completion, and maintaining training records.
- Administers Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) by coordinating sampling schedules and rotation, tracking results, and ensuring corrective actions and root cause analyses and records are completed.
- Ensures corrective actions are documented, tracked, and completed in a timely manner, and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
- Serves as a liaison between internal teams and external partners (laboratories, contractors, regulatory agencies) to coordinate sampling, testing, and compliance activities.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for third-party laboratories, auditors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate sampling, testing, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate with operations, sanitation, and other departments to ensure consistent execution of food safety and compliance programs.
- Supports Southern District operations, including record collection, system administration (iAuditor, Heavy Connect, Dropbox), and audit preparation.
- Coordinates water sampling programs, including scheduling, documentation submission, tracking compliance, and maintaining records in accordance with county requirements.
- Provides cross-functional support and perform additional duties as assigned to ensure ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.
- Consistent attendance mandatory.

Work environment:
Work is performed in a fast-paced shipping and logistics environment with elevated noise levels, frequent interruptions, and rapidly changing priorities. The role requires the ability to maintain concentration, communicate effectively, and perform tasks accurately in a high-activity setting.Physical requirements:

- Some travel may be required during winter season, November through March.
Required education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- A minimum of 2 years of food safety experience
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required Preferred education and experience:
- Coursework, training or certification in food safety, sanitation, or regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Coursework or degree in business, office administration, or a related field preferred.
