Tax and Compliance Officer

Job Description

Who We Are We are a construction company that designs and builds commercial refrigerated warehouses. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, quick-learning, and detail-oriented Tax and Compliance Officer to join our team and uphold the highest standards of regulatory adherence across our legal, business, and financial operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring our organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and contracts. Your expertise will help safeguard our reputation and mitigate risks. Duties Review and issue contracts with subcontractors. Assess contracts for liability issues. Manage and maintain business and tax licenses in dozens of states. Lead risk management initiatives by identifying potential compliance vulnerabilities and recommending corrective actions. Oversee regulatory reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in submissions to authorities. Skills Excellent ability to interpret complex information. Ability to research and persist in investigative initiatives to learn necessary requirements. Acute attention to detail. Ability to navigate bureaucracies. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
Vendor and subcontractor administration in a construction business environment Payroll and financial reporting in a construction business environment Understanding of nexus tax law concepts We offer end-of-the-year profit-sharing bonuses and SEP IRA. We have 2 weeks of paid time off per year and 1 week of sick leave. This role may apply for flexible hours once probation period has expired.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
