Job Description

Description We are looking for a meticulous Compliance Specialist to support law firm risk and intake operations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This hybrid position is well suited to a legal specialist who understands conflicts review, client onboarding, and matter setup within a fast-moving services environment. The person in this role will work closely with attorneys and internal partners to assess potential issues, facilitate accurate intake processing, and help maintain strong compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed conflict checks for prospective clients, new matters, and attorney hires using the firm's designated research tools.
  • Review and interpret search findings to identify ethical, business, and positional conflict concerns that may affect engagement decisions.
  • Investigate company relationships, affiliate structures, and ownership connections to support accurate conflict assessments.
  • Refer higher-risk or unclear conflict situations to senior legal or compliance leadership for further review and guidance.
  • Prepare and coordinate documentation related to waivers, disclosures, and other conflict-related communications as needed.
  • Evaluate new business intake submissions for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with internal compliance expectations.
  • Open new matters and help move client onboarding activities forward by partnering with attorneys and administrative teams.
  • Maintain organized records and produce clear written summaries or reports to support risk management and due diligence efforts. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; legal studies, paralegal training, or comparable law firm experience is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in conflicts analysis, business intake, compliance, or law firm risk management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working with Intapp or a similar conflicts database platform.
  • Strong analytical judgment with the ability to evaluate nuanced information and identify potential compliance concerns.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling sensitive legal and business data.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively in a deadline-driven, fast-paced setting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
