Type:
full-time Invenomic Capital Management LP (Invenomic), a Boston based long/short equity manager, is seeking an Associate to contribute to their Compliance and Operations functions. This position works directly with the Director of Operations and Chief Compliance Officer, helping to support the operations of the company. Qualified candidates will be enthusiastic and will be offered the opportunity to shape their role over time as they develop. This position is not remote and qualified candidates will be expected to work in-office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with recurring regulatory filings and reporting by gathering, reviewing, and organizing required information. Support the Compliance team in monitoring adherence to firm policies and escalating potential issues for review.
- Review investor communications, marketing materials, presentations, and other documents for consistency with firm policies and applicable compliance requirements. Assist with maintaining supporting documentation and identifying items that require further review by senior Compliance personnel.
- Assist with completing investor due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), quarterly information requests, and other client-related requests. Gather information from internal teams and maintain organized records of responses and supporting documentation.
- Assist with daily trade and portfolio-related processes, including trade reconciliation, position and cash checks, corporate actions, and resolving breaks between internal systems and external counterparties. Provide support to ensure accurate and timely processing of investment activity.
- Assist with maintaining the Management Company's financial and operational books and records, including organizing supporting documentation and ensuring records are complete and up to date. Help coordinate information required for accounting, compliance, and other recordkeeping purposes.
- Assist with the preparation and review of recurring financial reports and management information. Gather data, perform basic reconciliations and reasonableness checks, and help ensure reports are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.
- Assist with annual audit and other examination processes by gathering requested documentation, preparing schedules, and coordinating information with internal teams and external auditors. Track outstanding requests and help ensure they are addressed on a timely basis.
- Assist with daily cash management activities, including monitoring cash balances, preparing cash reports, and supporting cash transfers and other treasury-related activities. Help reconcile cash across bank, prime broker, and internal records and escalate discrepancies.
- Assist with special projects across Operations, Compliance, Finance, and other areas of the firm as needed.
Projects may include process improvements, data analysis, system implementations, research, and other initiatives designed to improve the firm's operational infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to prioritize
Desired Qualities and Competencies:
- Zero to three years of experience in a middle office or fund accounting capacity at an investment manager, bank, administrator, or custodian
- Investment industry knowledge and interest
- Self-motivated with an ability to work under minimal supervision
- Familiarity with regulations applicable to investment advisors and private funds a plus
