Job Description Job Title Credit Analyst Reports To Credit Analyst Supervisor Last Updated September 2026 SUMMARY Responsible for the investigation and analysis of credit risks. Resolves moderately complex credit problems but may require assistance on highly sensitive accounts. Makes some decisions regarding credit extension. Review financial data such as market share, income trends, and overall financial wherewithal and determine if loans will be profitable to the bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Underwriting Commercial Underwriting Request o Review the request received
- Verify all financial documentation for each commercial loan request submitted to the Credit Department that has been provided. o Request the remaining documentation/information or a waiver signed by the President/CEO if all information has not been provided.
- Financial Documentation Received o If received via email, upload into Loan Center for new customers or Synergy for customers with existing profiles. o If not received via email, return all documents to the loan officer.
- Review all financial analysis memorandums completed by loan officers o Verify that all required financial documentation has been provided and the figures used are accurate. o If documentation is missing, create an exception in ExTrax for missing documents. o If the analysis has any Policy Exceptions, cite the exception in ExTrax.
- Input financial information received for each loan request over $100,000 into Sageworks to generate Credit Memorandum for the relationship. The Credit Memorandum will incorporate all financial information provided and input into Sageworks
- Interpret financial documents and compile findings into a credit memorandum and/or other analysis documents and reports.
- Prepare a Proforma for commercial loan request when the loan proceeds will be used to acquire an income producing asset (when the appropriate information is provided).
- Prepare repayment analysis, within the credit memorandum or analysis document, for all commercial loan requests based on the financial documentation and information provided by the borrower to the loan officers to determine the borrower's ability to repay current and proposed debt obligations.
- Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of individual or companies being evaluated with similar establishments to determine risk.
- Complete collateral analysis when necessary
- renewals secured by real estate and lines of credit secured by accounts receivable.
- Provide the credit analysis to the loan officer upon completion of each commercial underwriting request.
- Prepare presentations of the complete credit analysis and summaries of loan requests for the loan officers to submit to the Loan Committee and/or Board of Directors for approval.
o After approval, upload signed and approved credit package to Loan Center for corresponding requests. - Attend Loan Committee and Board Meetings on a monthly basis and Loan Officer's Meetings on a quarterly basis. Annual Reviews
- Annual Review Financial Information Required
- o Update Annual Review Spreadsheet based on the Loans Top Exposure List o List all required financial documentation not in Synergy (needed for each loan relationship) o Provide each loan officer a list of their loan portfolio o Update spreadsheet as documentation is received
- Conduct Annual Reviews o Prepare a financial analysis for each loan relationship with cumulative debt greater than $1,500,000 to ensure accurate loan Risk Ratings.
o Notify the loan officer when each Annual Review is complete. o Check for loan officer comments and signatures once completed. o Notify Loan Supervisor regarding the modification when a Risk Rating modification is required. o Scan into Synergy and mark as completed in Annual Review Log. Manage Loan Distribution Program
- Monitor Disbursement Program and process all draw requests submitted by the loan officers o Verify that all documentation has been provided as required for each distribution o Complete the disbursement based upon where the funds are to be transferred
- Verify that all loan disbursements that were submitted on the previous day have been completed. Once verified, change the status to Complete. Borrowing Base Certificates
- Complete borrowing base certificates on a monthly basis for all revolving lines of credit secured by accounts receivable. This is only required for the lines with a balances and is not required if the customer has a zero balance.
- Monitor the borrowing base certificate tracking log to ensure accounts receivable aging reports are received monthly from borrowers.
- Review accounts receivable aging reports and prepare borrowing base certificates in accordance with loan requirements.
- Upload completed borrowing base certificates to Synergy or send to scanners to upload to Synergy.
- Create and maintain ticklers related to borrowing base certificates. Training, Customer Service, and Other Duties
- Provide quality customer service, as outlined in the FNB Employee Handbook (Customer Relations), with each contact with customers, potential customers, internal customers (employees), vendors, and other individuals.
- Complete assigned compliance courses and other assigned training by the deadline
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Other Primary (P), Secondary (S), or Back Up (B) Responsibilities that may be assigned
- Back up the Credit Analyst Supervisor as needed
- Monitor the New Loan Listing Report to identify new relationships input to Xperience o Once the new relationships are in core, all financials used in the underwriting process for the customer (in the Credit Department's Customer Files) are uploaded to Synergy o Scan any waivers signed by the President/ CEO for new loans related to current customers into Synergy Back up the Credit Analyst Supervisor as needed•ExTrax Exceptions o Review all financial document exceptions submitted as complete and verify accuracy o If documents are acceptable, approve and clear the exception.
o If documents are unacceptable, decline with an explanation for decline

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor (4-year college) degree preferred Two (2) years of banking experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
