Job Description

Description Senior Credit Analyst | Path to Credit Manager A growing commercial banking team is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst with a clear path to a Credit Manager role. This position is responsible for underwriting and analyzing commercial real estate and business credit requests to support sound lending decisions. The role includes preparing credit analyses, evaluating collateral and market conditions, reviewing third-party reports, and partnering with relationship managers and credit officers to assess risk and structure transactions in line with policy and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities + Analyze commercial real estate and business loan requests, including acquisition, refinance, construction, and development transactions + Prepare detailed credit presentations assessing borrower financial strength, global cash flow, guarantor support, and repayment sources + Review and spread borrower, guarantor, and property-level financial statements and tax returns + Evaluate property cash flow, rent rolls, operating statements, and lease terms + Perform financial modeling, including DSCR, LTV, sensitivity, and stress testing + Review third-party reports such as appraisals, environmental reports, and market studies + Assess market trends, property performance, and geographic risk + Ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory requirements + Support portfolio monitoring, annual reviews, covenant tracking, and risk rating updates Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field, or equivalent experience + 5+ years of credit analysis or underwriting experience + Strong financial analysis and accounting skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word + Strong written communication skills and attention to detail Preferred + Commercial real estate underwriting experience + Knowledge of banking regulations and credit policy Core Competencies + Credit judgment and risk assessment + Financial modeling and analysis + Time management and prioritization + Collaboration and communication If you are interested in this commercial banking credit opportunity with advancement into management, please contact Doug Rickart on LinkedIn, call 612-249-0330, or apply through the link provided Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, real estate, economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least five years of experience in credit underwriting or financial analysis within a commercial lending environment.
  • Strong capability in financial statement analysis, accounting concepts, and credit risk evaluation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for analysis, reporting, and credit documentation.
  • Effective written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, organize work efficiently, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Preferred background in commercial real estate underwriting and familiarity with banking regulations and internal credit policy.
