Job Description
Credit Analyst Helena, MT | Full-Time, On-Site About the Role Are you looking for more than just a job? Ascent Bank is looking to add a Credit Analyst to our outstanding team. You'll work closely with loan officers and bank customers to evaluate commercial and consumer credit needs — analyzing financial statements, cash flow, performance ratios, credit structure, and risk. It's a role that builds a strong foundation in business, finance, accounting, and communication, with hands-on mentorship and a clear path to grow within a collaborative, community-minded bank in the heart of Helena, Montana. What You'll Do Analyze the creditworthiness of commercial and consumer applicants and guarantors — reviewing loan applications, evaluating financial statements, calculating cash flows, identifying risks, and researching borrowers and industries. Partner with loan officers to analyze credit and prepare clear written and verbal credit analyses. Order, review, and analyze credit reports, appraisals, market valuations, environmental assessments, title insurance, and flood determinations. Coordinate with loan officers to keep loans moving efficiently and in compliance with regulations, from application through closing, including document preparation and review. Monitor and maintain loan files to ensure insurance, financials, and other required documentation stay current. Deliver exceptional service, guidance, and support to customers on bank products and services. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field — or equivalent work experience. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and meet deadlines while adapting to changing priorities. Self-motivated with sound judgment to assist in credit risk decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
