Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Mortgage Servicing Manager, is responsible for the servicing aspect of all Real Estate Mortgage loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the "member benefit-based approach". Fully complies with the requirements of all Credit Union policies, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies. Provides Member service for Mortgage Servicing inquiries from both external Members and internal staff, via telephone, email or other forms of correspondence. Maintains Homeowners Insurance escrow records and processes disbursements for payments of HOI. Maintains Flood Insurance escrow records and processes disbursements for payments of Flood insurance. Processes HMDA Edit Checks for all new loans originated and denied loans. May serve as back-up for other specialists within the Mortgage Servicing team. Keeps abreast of real estate market and industry operations changes. May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision. Supervisory Responsibilities There will be no direct supervisory responsibilities for this role. Education/Experience High School, 4 years related mortgage experience required; 3 years preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Window s, Word, Excel, Outlook Email /Calendar and Internet Explorer software. Experience with Encompass Banker and FICS Mortgage Servicer systems and Symitar preferred.
Leadership Skills Other Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be detail oriented. Must have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Member- and mission-focused, with a passion for innovation and community impact. Knowledge of mortgage guidelines for mortgage servicing as well as applicable laws and regulations related to lending. High level of initiative, creativity, and follow-through. Must be able to multitask.
Physical Demands:
May be required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms. May be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Requires ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via digital channels. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment. Regularly required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in person, on the phone and via the computer.
