As an Air and Ocean Import Operator, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating international import shipments, working closely with customers, carriers, overseas offices, customs brokers, and internal operations teams to ensure shipments move efficiently and compliantly. What You Will Need To be successful as an Air and Ocean Import Operator, you will ideally have: A minimum of 1 year of experience as an Air Import Specialist, Ocean Import Specialist, Air and Ocean Import Operator, Import Coordinator, or Import Agent within a freight forwarding environment. Experience handling Air Import and/or Ocean Import shipments from origin through final delivery. Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding and import operations. Experience with freight forwarding software such as CargoWise, SAP, AS400, or similar systems. A solid understanding of applicable U.S. federal, state, and international laws and regulations relating to import operations, including customs, security, and other government agencies. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple import shipments and priorities simultaneously. A strong work ethic with an appreciation for ownership, independence, accountability, and autonomy. A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service. The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced Air and Ocean Import Operations environment.
