Customs Brokerage Manager

Job Description

Summary:
The Customs Brokerage Manager oversees all customs brokerage operations and is responsible for the day to day operations of the department. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) procedures, classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), and adherence to all pertinent trade compliance guidelines. This positon encompasses leading a team, implementing strategies for revenue growth and increasing the existing customer base.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the daily operations of the customs brokerage ensuring all team members deliver service results. Develop and implement departmental strategies and initiatives aligned with organizational goals: driving operational effectiveness, increasing the customer base and revenue growth Manage and grow a high preforming team through coaching while fostering continuous development Ensure compliance with all U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations Review and file all required customs documentation within prescribed timeframes Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). Communicate with CBP and other Partner Government Agencies (PGA) to resolve any compliance issues, holds, or queries. Maintain proactive communication providing status updates, addressing inquiries, and ensuring service excellence. Support the Operations team by providing guidance and pricing support Maintain accurate and complete records of all customs transactions in accordance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Stay current with changes to regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in international trade and customs compliance. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and compliance effectiveness.
Competencies:
Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and procedures Detailed knowledge of the import entry process and documentation requirements Proficient in HTS classification Proven leader who consistently delivers results Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and accuracy Professional demeanor with ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment Hands on knowledge with customs brokerage compliance software and technology.
Qualifications :
CBP Customs Broker License Bachelor's Degree in related coursework preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or import operations leading a team of entry writers.
Travel Requirements :
May be required to travel for customer visits, meetings, presentations and conferences
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
