Responsibilities & what we are looking for
Position Overview:
The Sea Import Freight Forwarding Agent is responsible for managing all aspects of clients' import shipments, including route planning, pricing, customer service, and financial closing of import files. As a primary point of contact for LEMAN's customers, this role plays a critical part in maintaining and expanding the current customer portfolio. The position collaborates closely with key internal stakeholders—including the Commercial Team, Branch Managers, Product Heads, and others—to support business growth and ensure seamless import operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and grow assigned customer accounts while identifying new business opportunities. Maintain regular communication with customers, agents, overseas offices, vendors, and internal teams. Conduct customer reviews and maintain accurate customer information, profiles, and activity in CRM. Coordinate import shipments, prepare rate quotes, secure bookings, and ensure compliance with applicable import and customs requirements. Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing, vendor/agent billing, file reconciliation, and closure. Monitor profitability and maintain margins in line with budget expectations. Address billing or operational disputes promptly and escalate customer complaints when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of freight forwarding customer service experience.
AES/EAR/TSA
knowledge and experience preferred. Hazmat (air or ocean) certification is a plus. Familiarity with US Customs, FDA, and other U.S. regulatory agencies involved in the importation of goods. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. What we offer
