We are an established Custom House Broker and NVOCC that has been in business for 35 years! We offer a complete portfolio of global shipping and logistics services, including door to door freight forwarding and project management. We handle airfreight, LCL, FCL and break bulk. Regardless of cargo type or size, we have the skills and know-how to provide a choice of cost-effective solutions, around the world and around the clock. We have an immediate opening for an Import Specialist for our Edison, NJ office. The position is responsible for the daily movement of our customer's products including working with US Customs and other carriers, vendors to find the best and fastest solution. This includes, but is not limited to, following up with carriers, routing international shipments, negotiating rates, producing quotations, working with our customers and agents to acquire all required import documents, processing delivery orders, creating billing invoices, communicating with overseas agents, problem solving and tracking shipments, all while providing excellent customer service to our clients and foreign partners.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of Import experience, preferably with a CHB.
• Co-ordination of all import activities.
• Knowledge of trucking in order to facilitate best price for client.
• Preferably having knowledge of HTS codes and other departments like FDA, Fish and Wildlife (not a requirement).
• Will work in a team of 9-10 other members so should be a team player, while being able to be responsible for their own workload and files.
• Being able to manage being Detail oriented but in a fast paced environment
• Proficient with computer software, especially word, outlook and excel
• Knowledge of IES-Descartes Custom System (preferable but not required)
