Job Description

About the Opportunity We are looking for an established Business Development Executive with a strong book of business and proven success selling customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and international logistics solutions. This is an opportunity for a relationship-driven sales professional to join a growing logistics organization with a strong U.S. footprint, international capabilities, and the operational support needed to help you win, onboard, and retain profitable accounts. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in logistics sales, an active network of importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, or trading companies, and the ability to convert trusted relationships into long-term customer partnerships. You will focus on expanding revenue across customs brokerage, ocean freight, air freight, and value-added logistics services while working closely with operations, compliance, and leadership teams to deliver responsive, high-quality service. What You'll Do Leverage your existing book of business, industry relationships, and market knowledge to develop new revenue opportunities. Prospect, qualify, and close new accounts across customs brokerage, ocean freight, air freight, and international logistics services. Build trusted relationships with importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, and trade-sensitive customers that require reliable global supply chain support. Partner with operations, compliance, pricing, and leadership teams to design competitive logistics solutions that align with each customer's service, compliance, and cost requirements. Present the company's full service offering with confidence, including customs brokerage, ocean freight, air freight, trade compliance support, warehousing coordination, and value-added logistics solutions. Negotiate pricing, service commitments, and account transitions to secure profitable, sustainable business. Manage pipeline activity, sales forecasting, account development, and customer follow-up using CRM and sales reporting tools. Support smooth onboarding of new customers and maintain strong relationships that drive retention, organic account growth, and referrals. What We're Looking For Minimum of 8 years of successful sales or business development experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, international logistics, or supply chain services. Established book of business or active customer relationships with decision-makers in international trade, import/export, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or related industries. Proven ability to generate new revenue, close profitable accounts, and grow long-term customer relationships. Strong understanding of customs brokerage, international freight forwarding, freight pricing, trade documentation, routing, and service-level expectations. Experience selling ocean freight and air freight solutions; knowledge of customs brokerage and compliance-sensitive accounts is strongly preferred. Confident communicator with excellent negotiation, presentation, consultative selling, and relationship-management skills. Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and comfortable managing a sales territory, pipeline, and performance goals with accountability. Proficiency with CRM systems and sales management tools for tracking activity, reporting progress, and forecasting opportunities. Fluency in English required; bilingual Mandarin or Cantonese skills are a plus. Why This Role Stands Out Opportunity to build on an existing book of business with support from experienced operations, compliance, and leadership teams. Strong U.S. presence with 11 locations across key markets supporting customers and global logistics activity. Competitive compensation structure with meaningful earning potential for a proven logistics sales professional. Collaborative, customer-focused culture that values responsiveness, accountability, and long-term partnerships. Career growth opportunity within an organization committed to expanding its customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and international logistics footprint. If you are an experienced logistics sales professional with an established book of business and the drive to grow with a responsive international logistics partner, we invite you to apply. Bring your relationships, market insight, and closing ability—and we will provide the operational support, service platform, and growth environment to help you succeed. _Coppersmith is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
