• it is not required for the right candidate
• . We are willing to train someone who is exceptionally detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and documents, good at recognizing patterns, computer proficient, and able to learn from previous examples. This is not traditional data entry. We sometimes describe it as

•. You need to understand what you are entering, recognize when something doesn't look right, and know when to ask questions or escalate an issue. What We're Looking For Accuracy is extremely important in Customs brokerage. A transposed digit, missed deadline, incorrect classification, or overlooked discrepancy can result in shipment delays, rejections, additional costs, or penalties. We're looking for someone who: Is extremely careful with details and numbers. Naturally notices when information doesn't match. Can work from a previous example or "go-by" and determine what needs to change. Learns patterns rather than simply memorizing steps. Can work independently without constant supervision. Can recognize when something requires urgent attention, handle it, and return to their previous task. Takes ownership of their work and takes pride in getting it right. Is comfortable researching unfamiliar information online. Is computer proficient and comfortable learning specialized software. Communicates professionally with customers, carriers, truckers, and other parties. You do

• not•need a college degree.

Candidates from detail-heavy fields such as

• paralegal/legal support, medical billing or coding, regulatory compliance, tax preparation, accounting support, logistics, or similar work
• may have skills that transfer very well to this position.

Responsibilities Responsibilities will gradually include:

Reviewing incoming shipment documents. Preparing and filing Importer Security Filings (ISF). Tracking shipments and estimated arrival dates. Comparing bills of lading, manifests, commercial invoices, and other documents for discrepancies. Reviewing quantities, weights, values, product descriptions, container numbers, bill of lading numbers, and other shipment information for accuracy. Determining HTS classifications and applicable government-agency requirements. Identifying whether certificates, permits, or additional documentation may be required. Using previous Customs entries, importer-specific databases, spreadsheets, and other resources as references. Conducting product and regulatory research when new materials are encountered. Working with a Licensed Customs Broker to confirm classifications and regulatory requirements. Entering shipment, invoice, Customs, classification, and government-agency information into our Customs software. Monitoring Customs release and Partner Government Agency statuses such as FDA and APHIS. Communicating with customers, carriers, truckers, terminals, and other parties. Coordinating transportation and preparing delivery orders when necessary. Monitoring holds, exams, terminal charges, and other shipment-related issues. Preparing customer invoices and billing additional services when applicable. As you gain experience, you may become the

• primary filer for specific customer accounts
• , with other team members providing backup when needed.

How We Train New employees begin by sitting with an experienced team member to learn how shipments move through the different stages of the import process. You will start with simple, repetitive shipments using previous entries as examples. Initially, someone will work alongside you and answer questions. As you progress, you will complete entries independently and have your work reviewed afterward. We gradually introduce more customers, products, government agencies, and complex situations as your knowledge and confidence grow. Our goal is not simply to teach you which buttons to click. We want you to understand

• why•the information is being entered and eventually recognize when something isn't right.

Experience We are open to:

Experienced Customs Entry Writers or Import Specialists. Licensed Customs Brokers. Candidates with import, logistics, or regulatory experience. Candidates completely new to the industry who demonstrate exceptional accuracy, aptitude, computer skills, and willingness to learn. Starting pay and responsibilities will depend on experience, with opportunities for increased compensation as your skills and Customs knowledge grow.
