Customs Brokerage & Trade Compliance Supervisor

Job Description

Descripción del puesto: We are seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Operations Supervisor to oversee daily import and export operations for a U.S. Customs Brokerage company. This position will be responsible for supervising operational staff, managing workloads, monitoring compliance and service levels, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of customs and export transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import/export processes, ACE, AES/EEI, and operational compliance, as well as proven leadership and problem-solving skills. Required Experience 3-5 years of experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Export Operations, or Trade Compliance . Previous experience supervising operational staff. Hands-on experience with U.S. import and export operations. Experience managing customers and resolving operational issues. Experience working with SOPs, KPIs, quality controls, and operational procedures . Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Required Technical KnowledgeU.S.
Customs:
Responsible Supervision and Control (RS&C) requirements. ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) . U.S. Customs entry processes. Customs bonds. Operational-level HTS classification knowledge. PGA/OGA (Partner Government Agency / Other Government Agency) requirements. Cargo releases, entry summaries, and post-entry corrections. Handling CBP notices, entry rejects, requests for information, and other customs inquiries . Export Compliance /
EEI, Knowledge of:
AES (Automated Export System) . EEI (Electronic Export Information) .
USPPI / FPPI
responsibilities. Routed vs. non-routed export transactions. Schedule B and ECCN . Export licenses and license exceptions. NOEEI exemptions and exclusions . EEI filing review and auditing.
Operational Leadership Responsibilities :
Assigning and balancing workloads among operational staff. Prioritizing critical and time-sensitive transactions. Monitoring cut-off times and operational deadlines . Tracking pending transactions and ensuring timely resolution. Identifying delayed, held, or stopped operations. Escalating operational and compliance issues when necessary. Ensuring business continuity and adequate operational coverage. Managing employee vacation, absences, and staffing coverage. Balancing operational volume with available team capacity. Monitoring team performance and compliance with established SOPs and KPIs. Supporting continuous improvement of operational processes. Ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance throughout import and export operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Customs Broker License is a plus. Experience with cross-border Mexico-U.S. trade is a plus. Experience with customs brokerage software and ACE. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead, coach, and develop operational staff. Strong attention to detail and ability to make decisions under pressure.
