We're a trusted Woman owned and operated Managed Service Provider based in NYC with over 25 years of experience and a reputation for delivering tech support with intelligence, empathy, and follow-through. Now, we're growing our team and looking for a Director of Account Management & Project Manager who's sharp, resourceful, and excited to grow.
What You'll Be Doing:
This role has two distinct halves. On the Account Management side, you will lead and manage a team of two Account Managers; coaching and serving as the escalation point when an account issue needs senior involvement. The Director will only run the relationship to one large client. This is NOT a sales role. On the Project Management side, you will be directly managing the Projects Department -- working with the Project Architect to work out the scope, planning, scheduling and implementation of client IT projects from kickoff to closeout.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management Team Leadership Directly manage and coach 2 Account Managers — set goals, review performance, support their account planning and renewal strategy Act as the escalation point for account issues the AMs can't resolve on their own Review account health metrics with the AM team and guide remediation plans Support AMs on QBRs/renewals for their largest or highest-risk accounts, stepping in directly when executive-level client involvement is needed Client invoicing (agreement, project and T&M) Run one major account (taking it over from the CEO directly). Report account management performance to executive leadership Active Project Management Personally own the full lifecycle of client IT projects: scoping with the Project Architect, planning, resourcing, execution, and closeout Translate signed SOWs/proposals into detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource assignments Coordinate internal technical resources and third-party vendors for each project Run client-facing project meetings personally — kickoffs, status updates, closeout/handoff to ongoing support Track project scope, budget, and timeline against baseline for every active project; manage change orders and escalate risks Coordinate procurement/logistics tied to projects (hardware/software ordering, ISP installs, vendor scheduling) Track project profitability/margins vs. estimates across the project book Support pre-sales scoping with technical/timeline input on proposals for upcoming work Manage multiple concurrent client projects simultaneously across technical disciplines Ensure a clean handoff from project completion into ongoing account management/support Cross-Functional Coordination Establish clear process for handoffs between Sales → Projects (this role) → Account Management (the AM team) so nothing falls through the cracks Maintain documentation and reporting in the company's
PSA/CRM/PM
