Job Description:

A great client of UHY is seeking an Interim Controller . The ideal candidate will have strong government accounting experience (a requirement), a hands-on approach to accounting cleanup, and experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting. The Interim Controller role is a remote position. Interim Controller Responsibilities Lead a comprehensive accounting cleanup from June 2025 through the current period Perform and correct bank reconciliations and resolve historical discrepancies Bring accounting records up to date and ensure accurate financial reporting Oversee the full accounting cycle and establish consistent accounting processes Partner with the Director of Finance to rebuild and strengthen the accounting function Support accounting activities related to client funds and fiduciary responsibilities Review existing accounting processes and identify additional resources needed Support audit preparation and resolution of outstanding financial reporting issues Interim Controller Requirements Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting Experience leading accounting cleanups or bringing significantly outdated books current Governmental accounting experience required Strong understanding of full-accrual accounting principles Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex accounting issues Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in an environment where processes and systems are still being developed UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
