DESCRIPTION
High Profile is partnering with our client, an engineering consulting firm, to identify an experienced Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure timely and accurate financial and project reporting. This individual will serve as a trusted, strategic advisor to the leadership team and play an important role in the company's financial operations and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate brings a high level of financial acumen, analytical thinking, and strategic planning capabilities, along with experience partnering with project managers and operational teams. What You'll Do Accounting & Financial Management Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts Compile and report KPIs, financial budgets, forecasts, and industry benchmarking Ensure compliance with tax filings, payroll reporting, and regulatory requirements Recommend and establish financial strategies, objectives, and policies in partnership with leadership Project & Operational Reporting Partner with project leaders and billing teams on project and work-in-progress reporting, employee utilization, and revenue recognition Oversee project setup, billing terms, and related reporting Maintain overhead rate and billing rate tables Provide project management reporting, training, and support Oversee accounting and project management training Maintain a strong understanding of contract management and project management reporting External Partnerships & Compliance Serve as the primary liaison with external CPA firms, insurance agents, retirement plan sponsors, and banking partners Manage annual insurance renewals and workers'compensation audits Oversee retirement plan funding and annual census preparation for testing Culture & Environment Full-time, in-office position Opportunity to serve as a trusted strategic financial advisor to company leadership Role combines financial leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on accounting responsibilities Opportunity to influence organizational growth while maintaining strong standards of fiscal responsibility
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required 10+ years of solid accounting experience leading the full accounting function Experience working with project managers and operations teams Strong understanding of project management reporting and contract management High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills Preferred Qualifications CPA or CMA designation Experience within architecture, engineering, and/or construction industry highly preferred Experience with Deltek Vision and/or Vantagepoint highly preferred Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paylocity is a huge plus Familiarity with payroll tax and labor compliance requirements Proactive approach to staying current on professional and industry practices
