Title IV Financial Aid Officer Location:

Full-Time Position Summary The Brothers & Sisters BarberCosmo Academy is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and student-centered Title IV Financial Aid Officer to oversee the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations while providing exceptional guidance and support to prospective and current students throughout the financial aid process. The ideal candidate has experience administering Title IV financial aid programs, possesses a thorough understanding of federal financial aid regulations, and is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administer federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs in compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations and institutional policies. Counsel prospective and current students regarding financial aid eligibility, FAFSA completion, available funding options, loan responsibilities, and financial literacy. Review financial aid applications and supporting documentation to determine student eligibility. Process and maintain accurate financial aid records, ensuring timely awarding and disbursement of funds. Review ISIRs, complete verification, resolve conflicting information, and maintain complete student financial aid files. Process Pell Grants, Federal Direct Loans, and other eligible financial aid programs. Perform Return of Title IV (R2T4) calculations and monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in accordance with federal regulations. Reconcile financial aid accounts and coordinate with the Business Office to ensure accurate reporting and cash management. Prepare reports and documentation for audits, accreditation reviews, and Department of Education program reviews. Ensure compliance with Title IV regulations, FERPA, and all applicable federal, state, and institutional requirements. Develop and maintain financial aid policies and procedures. Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, Student Services, and Accounting to ensure accurate enrollment reporting and student records. Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to student and family inquiries. Stay current with changes to Title IV regulations and financial aid policies through ongoing professional development. Required Qualifications Experience administering Title IV financial aid programs in a college, university, vocational school, career college, cosmetology school, barber school, or other postsecondary institution. Experience with FAFSA processing, ISIR review, verification, Pell Grant administration, Federal Direct Loans, Return of Title IV (R2T4), Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and financial aid reconciliation. Thorough knowledge of Title IV regulations, the Higher Education Act (HEA), FERPA, and U.S. Department of Education compliance requirements. Experience using financial aid management software and Student Information Systems (SIS). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with professionalism and discretion. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting regulatory deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a cosmetology, barber, vocational, or career education institution. Experience preparing for Department of Education program reviews, audits, or accreditation visits. Experience with CampusVue, Anthology, PowerFAIDS, Campus Ivy, or similar financial aid management systems. Knowledge of California state financial aid programs.
