Portfolio Analyst $108,000-$114,000 per year | Full-time | Monday-Friday Portfolio reporting is only useful when the numbers tell a clear story. We're looking for a Portfolio Analyst in Hoover to work with investment data, performance reporting and research, helping the investment team understand what is changing across the portfolio and why. The position involves regular work with holdings, transactions, market data and performance figures, along with supporting research and financial analysis. The work Prepare monthly portfolio reports covering performance, holdings, allocation and exposure Reconcile portfolio positions, transactions, cash balances and pricing data Calculate portfolio returns and compare results against relevant benchmarks Review portfolio allocation and identify material changes or concentration issues Maintain portfolio models and update market data, assumptions and valuation inputs Research companies, industries and market developments relevant to portfolio holdings Assist with financial statement analysis, company valuation and scenario modeling Prepare materials for portfolio review meetings and investment discussions Track earnings announcements, corporate actions and other events affecting portfolio holdings Work with custodians, data providers and internal teams to resolve data discrepancies Maintain accurate investment records and supporting documentation Use Excel to analyze portfolio data and improve recurring reporting Experience & Qualifications We're looking for someone with 2+ years of experience in portfolio analysis, investment research, asset management or a related financial role. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a similar discipline is preferred. Strong Excel skills are important, particularly when working with financial models, portfolio data and recurring reports. You should be comfortable reviewing performance figures, comparing results against benchmarks, reconciling financial information and explaining your findings clearly. Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Power BI or similar investment and analytics platforms would be helpful. The role in practice You'll work with the investment team on regular portfolio reviews while also supporting research, valuation work and analysis as new questions arise. The work combines recurring reporting with assignments that require you to investigate the numbers and understand what they mean.
