Overview:
JUNIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
(SAMD): Bowhead seeks a Junior Financial Analyst to support the CECOM Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD). This is an early‑career, growth‑focused position designed for someone who is eager to learn, develop professionally, and advance within our organization. The Junior Financial Analyst will receive structured training and work in a support capacity to more senior team members, managing a smaller and less complex workload while building foundational expertise. The Analyst will provide financial and records management support to the Business Management Team.Responsibilities:
Essential functions will include: Assist SAMD Divisions by reviewing financial data, including identifying, tracking, and forecasting funding sources in accordance with the Security Assistance Management Manual. Support preparation for program reviews, start‑of‑work meetings, In‑Process Reviews (IPRs), and other briefings as needed. Verify accuracy of funding lines and help identify, research, and reconcile missing or inaccurate data. Support financial line closure of FMS cases, including reconciliation of unliquidated obligations. Pull and review Status of Funds (SOF) reports. Provide general financial support to the team, including assisting with execution and procurement‑related requests. Assist with FMS case line closure activities, including researching contractual documents, coordinating with Acquisition on contract modifications, and supporting MIPR and funding adjustments.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related. 0-2+ years of professional experience (including Internship experience). Experience with Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, V Look Up, and more). Strong critical thinking skills, self-starter. Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodicallySECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
