The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the Archdiocese through the accurate processing, recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions. This position assists with assessment-related financial activity, bank account reconciliation, financial reporting, donation tracking, insurance recordkeeping, financial documentation, preparation of the Annual Report, and tracking of endowment funds and other financial activities as needed. The Financial Analyst must maintain accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail while working collaboratively with the Finance Department, internal departments, and external financial institutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Banking and Financial Responsibilities- Record and process assessment-related checks to ensure accurate financial tracking and documentation.
- Deposit assessment and miscellaneous checks every Wednesday.
- Reconcile assigned bank accounts on a monthly basis and verify financial records for accuracy.
- Review and analyze variances between budgeted and actual performance to identify trends and discrepancies. Bank Statement Handling and Reporting
- Download, scan, name, appropriately and save monthly bank statements for more than 15 accounts, including BMO, Bank of America, Columbia Bank, Interaudi, Stifel, and Partner Group.
- Review bank statements for errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies and communicate concerns to the appropriate parties.
- Send monthly BMO and Bank of America bank statements to The Order's Administrative Assistant. Financial Reporting and Assessments
- Compile and submit financial reports related to seminarians.
- Prepare and submit the Network for Good donation report for Food for the Hungry and Children's Relief on a monthly basis.
- Provide Network for Good donation summaries and check breakdowns to Finance Manager.
- Analyze and evaluate financial assessments for accuracy, completeness, and impact. Insurance Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to insurance policies for the Archdiocese and Antiochian Village.
- Update and maintain parish insurance information using Excel-based tracking systems. Annual Report and Organizational Documentation
- Gather reports and information from department and department heads and organize the content for inclusion in the Annual Report.
- Design, prepare, and print the completed Annual Report. Endowment Fund Support
- Manage and track the Archdiocese's endowment funds, ensuring proper reporting and compliance. Education and Essential Skills Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, banking, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Experience working with financial software, accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial records preferred.
- Experience preparing reports, publications, presentations, or other professionally formatted documents preferred. Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately process and maintain detailed financial records.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and financial recordkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to learn and effectively use financial and accounting software, including QuickBooks, Bill.com, and other organizational systems.
- Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Basic graphic design and document layout skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with management, clergy, staff, financial institutions, and outside professionals.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet recurring deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive financial and organizational information.
