Senior Financial Coordinator (DOH/PHD Position #10111976)

Posting Details This position will serve the Center for Public Health Operations and the Center for Health Protection. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist? The primary purpose of this position is to provide extensive financial support to the Center for Public Health and Public Health Division. Broad experience with statewide financial system (SHARE) which includes knowledge of requisitions, purchase orders, payment vouchers, monitoring warrants, monthly reconciliation, travel and travel reimbursements. Knowledge of the NM Procurement Code, and DFA Regulations as well as internal process for Department of Health and more specifically policies and protocol in which the employee can operate independently with diversified procedures and standards. How does it get done? Provides responsive and professional service to the PHD/CHP staff. Independently procure services and/or goods, process payment vouchers, reconciling of accounts and provide financial support to the field with accuracy and in a timely manner utilizing NM Procurement code. Closing out the fiscal year to include that all invoices are paid in full. Opening the new fiscal year by encumbering funds for all accounts required for the day to day administrative functions. Must have the ability to multi task. Occasional use of state vehicles and fleet maintenance and must maintain a current Defensive Driving Certificate. Administrative functions such as answering the telephone, filing, photo copying and pre-audit incoming financial documents, routing financial documents to the appropriate area for approval. Travel auditing and processing. The ability to work under extremely tight deadlines in a fast paced high volume office setting and be able to prioritize tasks. Who are the customers? The customers consist of the Public Health Division statewide staff as well as the Center for Health Protection statewide staff. Ideal Candidate The customers consist of the Public Health Division statewide staff as well as the Center for Health Protection statewide staff. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Driver's license is required. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. This position will perform work in a busy office setting to include prolonged standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting.
