Description We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support royalty-related financial activities for a film production company in New York, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can interpret royalty data, prepare accurate statements, and work comfortably with large datasets in Excel. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to financial reporting and analysis in a fast-paced entertainment-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review royalty agreements and financial records to help ensure calculations are accurate and properly applied.
• Prepare, validate, and distribute royalty statements with close attention to timing, detail, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze payment activity, variances, and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies and recommend corrections.
• Use Microsoft Excel to organize large volumes of data, build reports, and perform detailed financial analysis.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, resolve statement questions, and improve reporting accuracy.
• Maintain organized records of royalty transactions, supporting schedules, and reconciliation files for audit readiness.
• Assist with recurring financial reporting and ad hoc analysis related to royalty income and payment trends. Requirements
• Prior experience in a financial analyst or royalty analyst role.
• Strong working knowledge of royalties and royalty statement preparation.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation tasks.
• Ability to interpret financial agreements and apply payment terms accurately.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in handling financial information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
