Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervising Financial Analyst, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the compilation of University Health System monthly financial report, Bi-weekly trending payroll reports and participating in the preparation of the annual operating budget. Additionally, responsible for monthly statistical departmental reports, analysis of statistical and financial data on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis including the Health systems annual operating budget cycle and Medicare Cost Reporting. Specific job duties include, but not limited to: Prepares statistical and financial reports; Reviews, interprets and analyzes monthly comparative departmental budget reports; Prepares, compiles, and analyzes Hospital month-end Statistical and Financial Report; Participates in providing analytical data to assist in evaluating health maintenance contracts; Preparation and assembly of detailed budgets; Reviews and analyzes budget requests per the Budget Manager; Provides technical and informational assistance to department heads; Prepares special studies which analyze specific part of hospital's operations; Provides research, analysis and reporting on monthly financial and statistical variances; Compiles statistical data, FTE's and calculated metrics for quarterly, semiannually and annual internal and external surveys.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Healthcare Administration and a minimum of three years finance or accounting experience required. Department may also consider an Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or Healthcare Administration and five years finance or accounting experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills necessary. Must possess technical skills with data processing capabilities, including personal computer programs, spreadsheets, word processing and data base applications. Advance Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint knowledge essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with healthcare field a plus.
