The Opportunity The Associate will be an investment professional supporting the Corporate Private Debt team in the origination, execution, and management of primarily investment grade corporate private debt investment opportunities across a wide universe of industries and sectors. The Associate will also support administrative, marketing, and client-based projects related to the Corporate Private Debt team. The role provides candidates with the opportunity to work and interact with various teams across MIM, including Infrastructure, Private Asset Based Finance, Client Portfolio Management, Insurance Asset Management, Institutional Client Group, Sales Derivatives, Investment Operations, Legal, and Compliance. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate investment opportunities through market research, deal tracking (Salesforce), roadshows, issuer/sponsor meetings, and engagement with bankers and advisors. Conduct comprehensive due diligence by reviewing offering memoranda, research reports, rating agency analyses, legal structures, and transaction documentation. Perform financial analysis and modeling, including reviewing financial statements, building and updating models, and conducting sensitivity and credit assessments. Support transaction execution by preparing investment memoranda, assessing pricing and relative value, recommending credit ratings, and assisting with transaction closings. Prepare presentations and investment recommendations for Investment Committee discussions and collaborate with Client Portfolio Management to align investments with client objectives. Manage and monitor portfolio investments through credit reviews, portfolio update meetings, credit event reporting, handling amendments/waivers, and responding to client investment requests. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree with strong academic achievement and 2-3+ years of experience in credit underwriting, corporate finance, M&A, or investment analysis. Strong credit and financial analysis skills, including financial statement review, accounting knowledge, and fundamental credit assessment. Advanced technical proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and fixed income market analysis. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly in both written and verbal formats. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments. Collaborative and self-driven professional able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with unrestricted U.S. work authorization. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office. The expected salary range for this position is $110,000- $130,000 .
